Hello, and welcome to my blog about When Horses Had Wings! Because this novel is somewhat of a departure from my other works, I’ve decided to give it a dedicated blog.

Prior to writing When Horses Had Wings, I wrote three humor books. My first, Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road, was published in 2006 and has been an Amazon bestseller. That title was followed by Deedee Divine’s Totally Skewed Guide to Life (2008), a ForeWord Book of the Year nominee, and then Stilettos No More: And Other Delinquent Thoughts (2010).

I have worked as a print journalist, humorist, and an opinion columnist, to name a few of my earlier professions. But I must admit that the most rewarding task I’ve ever undertaken–aside from raising my four children–has been writing and publishing When Horses Had Wings. The experience was surreal. I poured my soul into this story, and I was rewarded by assistance from… Well, I’ll let you decide. I like to think The Universe, God, my Higher Power, or whatever you wish to call that source that’s responsible for all creation, came to my aid. At times, it seemed that all I did was show up at my keyboard and receive dictation.

Along with assistance from other realms, I received guidance and expert editing from Lynn O’Dell, Red Adept Publishing, and book cover design services from none other than my very own daughter, Laura Estill. My publishing firm, Corncob Press, completed the publishing process with help from Amazon’s CreateSpace.
